The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a global organization that develops and publishes international standards for all electrical, electronic, and related technologies. The IO-Link protocol is based on the IEC 61131-9 standard, IO-Link Wireless is based on the IEC 61139-3 extension of it.
