Uplink

Uplink

In general computer networking terminology, an “uplink” typically refers to a connection from a local area network (LAN) to a wide area network (WAN). In the context of IO-Link Wireless, “Uplink” refers to the phase of communication where wireless devices transmit data to the IO-Link Wireless Master. It involves a single-cast time-multiplexing message sent from the wireless devices according to a predefined timeslot. This uplink communication is a key component of IO-Link Wireless, ensuring low-latency industrial wireless connectivity by allowing sensors, actuators, or I/O hubs to send data to the central master, facilitating real-time control and monitoring in industrial automation applications.
